Brooklyn

Brooklyn is New York City's most populated borough, with nearly 2.5 million residents. Neighborhoods such as Brooklyn Heights, Park Slope and most recently, Williamsburg, have attracted residents looking for a trendy alternative to Manhattan. Brooklyn is well served by public transit. Many Brooklynites use mass transit to travel to Manhattan for work. Brooklyn is connected to Manhattan by three bridges, the Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Williamsburg bridges, and the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel. The Verrazano Narrows Bridge links Brooklyn with Staten Island. For recreation, there is Prospect Park and the Coney Island amusement park and beach. Dining options include everything from the famous Peter Luger steakhouse, Junior's Cheesecake, The Water's Edge and Nathan's Hot Dogs. Education is well-served by Brooklyn College, Brooklyn Law School, Kingsborough Community College, SUNY Downstate Medical, Long Island University and Pratt Institute. Both Barbara Streisand and talk show icon Larry King grew up in Brooklyn.
